My passions as a child and teenager were sports and the arts. I loved reading, writing, playing soccer, listening to music and making films. My ultimate passion was social justice and I knew my goal in life was to make a postive change in the world.

Finally, after much consumption of Michael Moore documentaries and Hunter S. Thompson books, I decided to become a journalist. I switched my major from history to journalism and got involved with my school newspaper. During my time at California State University, Long Beach, I was able to write articles, take photos and shoot videos for the newspaper and its accompanying Web site. I have interned for Pacifica Radio in Los Angeles, The Orange County Register and orangecounty.com. 

After graduating from Cal State Long Beach in May 2011, I became an instructor for an after-school program in Montebello. In my free time, I freelance for Patch Latino and collaborate on independent short films.

As a personal goal, I hope to travel all over the world. So far, I have visited Mexico, Canada, parts of Europe and Brazil, but have many more places to go to.

De niña y adolescente mis pasiones fueron los deportes y las artes. Me encantaba leer, escribir, jugar al fútbol, escuchar música y hacer peliculas. Mi pasión principal era la justicia social y sabía que mi meta en la vida era hacer un cambio positivo en el mundo. 

Después de mirando muchos de los documentales de Michael Moore y leendo los libros de Hunter S. Thompson, sabía que quería ser períodista.  Cambié mi enfoque en la Universidad de historia al periodismo. Durante mi tiempo en California State University Long Beach fui capaz de escribir artículos, tomar fotos y grabar vídeos para el periódico escolar y su sitio web que acompaña. 

He sido voluntaria para Radio Pacifica en Los Angeles, El Orange County Register y orangecounty.com.

Después de graduarme de Cal State Long Beach en mayo de 2011, me he convertido como instructora en una programa después de clases. En mi tiempo libre soy una escritora independiente para Patch Latino y colaboro en cortometrajes independientes. 

Como una meta personal espero poder viajar por todo el mundo. Hasta ahora he visitado México, Canadá, Europa y Brasil, pero hay muchas mas partes para visitar.
