Local Business Receives Bomb Threat

A South Gate business was evacuated after a bomb threat. Police say nothing was found to substantiate the threat.

UPDATE: "Officers investigated the incident, and found nothing to substantiate the threat,'' said Lt. Jim Teeples of the South Gate Police Department. "The incident concluded at approximately 9 a.m.''

A South Gate business was evacuated Tuesday after a telephone bomb threat was received.

The incident began about 6:15 a.m. at Shultz Steel, 5321 Firestone Blvd., according to the South Gate Police Department. A bomb squad was sent to investigate.

Shortly after 8 a.m., police reported that the investigation was continuing, but "so far nothing has been found to substantiate the threat."

It was not immediately known how many people were evacuated.
